Derma roller

What is microneedling?

It involves specialized rollers with needles that cause micro pricks on the skin, and thus, help in collagen induction. It can be followed by a meso-perfusion of specialized mixtures containing a cocktail of vitamins, lightening agents or hyaluronic acids depending on the indication it is used for.

What is it used for?

Microneedling helps to reduce acne scars, stretch marks and in skin rejuvenation. For hair fall and alopecia it can be used alone or in combination with mesotherapy.

How many sessions are required?

Microneedling sessions are repeated every 3-4 weeks and the total number of such sessions depends on the indication for which it is used and on the body area which is being treated. It also depends whether this treatment is a part of the individualized combination treatment plan which your doctor has decided for you or as a single treatment regime.

Does it have any downtime?

After a microneedling session, the treated area is slightly red for 1-3 days and rarely mild crusting or patchy skin is observed which is shed off in 2-4 days. Sometimes just a mild pinkish flush might be present for about 15mins after the treatment. You can put on make-up immediately after a session and go straight back to work!

What precautions do I take when I go for microneedling treatments?

Avoid sun tanning for the next 7-10 days. Also apply an appropriate sunscreen.
